Resonor sells 260 million kWh of heat per year (enough to heat 30,000 homes), 40% for the residential sector, 40% for the service sector and 20% for public facilities.
The Lille community heating system is run by Veolia Energy subsidiary Resonor under a concession contract awarded by Lille City Council through till 2024. Heating is invoiced on the basis of heat consumption, as read from a heat meter.
Installation of a CHP (combined heat and power) plant brought users a 15% price reduction. A 23-strong team handles commercial, maintenance and functional aspects of network operation.
